Currently we’re finishing a project that we had for almost 20 years. We helped 26 children in a very intensive way with paying school costs and providing after school care in a neighborhood in Bangalore. This neighborhood became wealthy and we will focus now on other parts of the city. Click here to read more about this old project.
In 2024, we will start a new project in India, for small children outside Bangalore.
New project in India
New project
In a new project on a new location, in a slum area in Bangalore and outside Bangalore, we will start in the same way we started 20 years ago. Children, at the moment young adults, from the previous project will be involved in this project.
In October 2024 we need a MINIBUS + TEACHING MATERIALS to be able to reach out to children, starting with small activities in which we get to know the children and then help them in their future life by providing education in English and after school care. Important is that this new project will have a strong foundation on local support.
Only for the start up we will use money from abroad and then we will faze out that help and rely as much as possible on local donors as we’re doing already in the last 7 years.
She is 21 and finishing B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) and is still very much engaged with Toe to Heart as a volunteer.
Start a project yourself
You want to start yourself in the spirit of Toe to Heart? Good plan! On our Toetoheartworld.com website we will highlight new small initiatives. Our advice: Just make a small start and show others what you’re doing and what you want! If you keep it small you don’t need to start a whole NGO yourself. We could cooperate.
